1930s Smithville Airfield
1930s – Early Aviation Roots

An emergency airfield was established near Smithville in the mid-1930s as part of the U.S. Department of Commerce network along the Nashville-to-Washington airway.

Smithville Municipal Airport (0A3) was officially activated in December 1971 by the City of Smithville.

Today the airport operates with a 4,257-foot runway, 100LL & Jet A+ fuel services, maintenance, and pilot amenities while serving the local community and fly-in visitors.
