1930s Smithville Airfield

An emergency airfield was established near Smithville in the mid-1930s as part of the U.S. Department of Commerce network along the Nashville-to-Washington airway.

Smithville Municipal Airport (0A3) was officially activated in December 1971 by the City of Smithville.
